Bernice was born on March 26, 1941, to Mary (Warwaruk) and John Brezden. Bernice was the youngest of 12 children. She is predeceased by her parents, six brothers and four sisters. She has one surviving brother Ernie (Denise) Brezden.
Alvin and Bernice were married on August 26, 1967. They had moved to Calgary for a year and a half then back to Dauphin to start their family. They welcomed a daughter, Kimberley into their lives September 14, 1969, and then a son, Leon on June 25, 1971.
She is survived by your loving husband of 57 years Alvin Cole, her daughter Kimberly and husband David Shewchuk and her son Leon Cole; four grandchildren Graham (wife Haley) Shewchuk, Kayla (husband to be) Hunter Glover, Davin Shewchuk and Rowan Cole; one great grandson Weston Shewchuk.
After a brief illness Bernice passed away at the Dauphin Regional Hospital On June 22, 2025.
Bernice was very involved with Ukrainian Catholic Church English Choir, which she led the English Liturgy.
Alvin and Bernice were also involved with Marriage Encounter for many years where they gave talks that led them to TEC (Teens Encounter Christ).
Bernice enjoyed spending time in her garden and looking after her flowers in the summer months on their acreage northwest of Dauphin. Along with her husband, they took much pride in keeping their yard pristine.
After moving to town, she still wanted to go buy her flowers at the greenhouse, even though she couldn’t look after them.
They moved to Loray Manor in December of 2024 and enjoyed meeting new friends there.
A private service is being held for family and extended family.
