Barry Zaleski was born in Melfort Saskatchewan to Lena Arsenie and Walter Zaleski on October 15, 1952. He was the oldest child. They farmed in Brooksby, Sask. Till he was 3 years old at which time they moved to Saskatoon where Barry got his schooling at St. Edward School. His sister Julie and brother Brian were born in Saskatoon.
On July 2nd, 1965; Walter passed away at 40 years old leaving behind Lena and the three children.
On July 1st, 1967 Lena re-married Joe Smigelski and moved the family to Rorketon, MB where he completed his high school.
In 1972 he moved to Dauphin where he worked at Parkland Plastics then worked at Pepsi. He started working for the then Town of Dauphin till 1994 where he was employed as Engineering clerk. He then worked for Dauphin-Ochre School / Mountain View School Division as a custodian. He had to retire due to his health.
On May 10, 1975 Barry married Clairette Zastre in Ste Rose. On February 17, 1976 our son Ronald was born in Dauphin. Barry was so excited and happy when Ron was born; he was very proud of all of his achievements.
He was especially proud when Ron took an interest in music and began his drumming.
Barry had many different hobbies like older drink bottle collecting till he got sick and then got into Genealogy to pass the time.
Barry is survived by his Wife, Clairette, Son Ronald, one Sister Julie Graveline of The Pas, one Brother Brian Zaleski Brandon MB. Two Brothers-In Law Rene (Rena) Zastre of Winnipeg and Germain Zastre & His friend Vivian Erlendson of Ste. Rose MB. Barry is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday May 30th at 2:00pm from the Sneath Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin with Fr. Christopher Dubois officiating.
