Averie Anne Sharp

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Averie Anne Sharp (Baumung) announces her passing on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 41 years. Averie passed peacefully at her home in Saskatoon, surrounded by love.

Averie was born on August 10, 1984, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, to Elaine (Bauer) and Harley Baumung. She was the third child in a family of four and the cherished only daughter. Raised on the family farm northeast of Calder, Averie grew up grounded in hard work, resilience, and a deep connection to nature. She remained there throughout her childhood and graduated from Yorkton Regional High School in 2002.

Life on the farm shaped who Averie became. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty-whether cleaning chicken barns, milking cows, tending the garden, cooking amazing meals or helping wherever she was needed. Even after long nights with friends, she rose early to support her family. She found joy in the outdoors, often filling her basket with kittens, naming her favourite cattle, and letting her imagination thrive in the beauty of rural life.

Following high school, Averie began her journey into adulthood in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she attended Marvel Beauty Schools. She completed her journeyperson hairstylist training in 2003. In the years that followed, she explored new opportunities-taking online courses, working at the Roblin Care Home, and building her career as a hairstylist in Yorkton at Regis Salon before eventually finding her place in Saskatoon.

In the summer of 2009, at the age of 25, Averie moved to Saskatoon with her brother Davis and began working at First Impressions Hair Salon. It was there that her next chapter began-one that would define the rest of her life.

During that first year in Saskatoon, Averie met Evan. What began as time spent together grew into a deep and lasting connection. By the summer of 2010, they were living side by side, and in October of that year, they moved into their home on Main Street, where they built a life filled with laughter, friendship, and hospitality.

In August 2011, their love story truly took hold. Through persistence, friendship, and an undeniable bond, Averie and Evan began a journey that would lead to a lifetime together. In June 2015, they purchased their first and forever home. Evan proposed in the summer of 2016, and they were united in marriage on August 12, 2017.

A defining moment in Averie’s life came in April 2012, when she met a young baby girl, Jade, while working at Sherbrooke Daycare-where she had started in January of that year caring for children. When the opportunity arose to care for Jade during a difficult time, Averie opened her heart without hesitation. What began as temporary care soon became a lifelong commitment. Alongside Evan, Averie lovingly welcomed Jade into their family, embracing her fully as their daughter and building a life centered around love, stability, and compassion.

Averie continued her work at Sherbrooke until August 2020 before stepping into a new path of service. In October 2020, she became an Emergency Case Manager with CUMFI in Saskatoon, dedicating herself to supporting vulnerable children. In the winter of 2024, she advanced into her role as Program Manager with Choice Passion Life Support Services (CPLSS) assisting adults with intellectual disabilities, continually pursuing additional training and education. Her work reflected who she was at her core-selfless, compassionate, and deeply committed to helping others.

Together, Averie and Evan built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared experiences. They were truly each other’s world-often ordering the same meal at a restaurant, sharing private jokes, and referring to one another affectionately as “babies.” Their bond was effortless and deep. As a family, they travelled all across Canada, to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and most recently experienced the trip of a lifetime to Fiji and Western Australia with their daughter Jade, visiting Evan’s sister Nicole and her family.

Averie was the embodiment of kindness and strength. She consistently put the needs of others before her own-whether caring for family, supporting children, or advocating for adults with intellectual disabilities. She gave endlessly, often without pause, choosing to lift others up rather than draw attention to her own struggles. Her courage and determination carried her through her battles with quiet strength. She fought with grace until the very end.

Left to cherish her memory are her soulmate of 15 years, Evan; her beloved daughter, Jade Fyke (Richard); her parents, Elaine and Harley Baumung; her brothers: Billy (Jolene) Baumung and their children Lane, Billie-Jo (Austin), Dalton (Kyra), Clay (Lily), and Hannah; Trevor (Jody) Baumung and their children Kygean (Brooke), and Kaidean (Marli), as well as great-nieces Huxley and Hendrix; and her youngest brother, Davis Baumung (doggy nephews Walter & Leo). She also leaves behind many extended family members on both the Baumung and Sharp sides, all of whom she loved deeply.

Averie was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Emily Bauer, and William and Erna Baumung; her uncles Glen Bauer, Butch Bauer, and Hank Funk; her aunt Beryl Bauer; her cousin Dean Bauer; and her loved in-laws, Diane Sharp and Jared Robertson.

Averie will be remembered as the most beautiful woman-not only in appearance, but in spirit. Her love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others leave a legacy that will endure in all who knew her. 

A viewing was offered on Friday, June 19 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm (SK Time)  from the Grace Lutheran Church in Zorra, SK.

A funeral service was held for Averie on Friday, June 19 at 1:00 pm (SK Time) from the Grace Lutheran Church in Zorra, SK.

This service was live streamed for those who were unable to attend.
