Armand (Butch) Charles Guillas
December 23, 1945 - June 9, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Butch at the age of 75, on June 9, 2021.
Butch was born in Grandview, MB and moved to Dauphin in 1973, where he lived until his passing. He is predeceased by his loving wife Rose.
He is survived by his children Chuck and his family Cindy, Keenan & Andrea and his daughter Lisa and her family Brian & Kennedy, and all seven of his brothers & sisters and many nieces & nephews.
Growing up Butch loved sports,he played football and hockey, and coached hockey. He loved the outdoors, a beer around the camp fire and having a laugh with friends. He and his “Rosebud” were very social, going to many community dances, bonspiels and other events with friends. He also enjoyed hunting but he stopped hunting animals and came to enjoy watching them come in the yard at Stony Point where he retired from running his company, Green Thumb.
Butch was very appreciative of his friends and would always help them out if he could. He had a knack for delicacies coming out of his smoker and introduced us to deep frying a whole turkey, cured meats, smoked fish and homemade sausage. He loved reading, a game of crib and always had a cold beer waiting for friends.
Butch and Rose loved winters in Mexico, walking the beaches & enjoying the company of their family & friends in Mazatlán, always willing to pick them up at the airport & show them the sites and best local food places.
He will be deeply missed and his memories will be cherished by his family and friends.
In accordance with Butch’s wishes, a cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date.
