Annie (Krokosh) Pasternak passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years in the Winnipegosis Care Home on April 4, 2020 with Ray and Florence at her side.
Anne was born at home at the family farm in Small Creek area on December 7, 1921 to Jacob and Rosie (Senkiw) Krokosh. She attended school in Small Creek.
On November 5, 1938 Annie married Walter Pasternak at Lady of Loretta Church in Fork River, MB and started farming in the Fork River area.
Anne and Walter raised a family of three children. Annie enjoyed her time with family and her friends, and nobody went away before having coffee and lunch, she enjoyed their company. She enjoyed going to Winnipegosis for lunch and coffee with her friends. She liked to play her fiddle, guitar and accordion, which she enjoyed at some of CKDM's talent shows. She also enjoyed singing songs in English and Ukrainian.
She liked gardening, picking fruit, canning, baking and making meals for the threshing gang during threshing time.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter on May 31, 1984; her son Elmer on February 18, 1986; son-in-law John Semeniuk; her parents, Jacob 1959 & Rosie 1957, all buried in the Fork River Cemetery. Her brother Philip, sisters Sophia and Nellie died in Poland.
Left to mourn her passing is her son Raymond and wife Debbie of Fork River; daughter Florence Semeniuk of Ethelbert; daughter-in-law Florence of Dauphin; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
A special thank you to the Winnipegosis Care Home Staff who looked after mom for 50 months, you all did a great job, Ray & Florence.
A funeral mass was held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 am from St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church in Dauphin with Fr. Michel Nault officiating. Interment followed in the Fork River Roman Catholic Cemetery.
