Annie Gylytiuk - Zazulak Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Dora (Yurkiw) Gylytiuk/Zazulak on June 20, 2018 at her home in Innisfail, Alberta at the age of 95.

Annie was born in Grandview, Manitoba on October 26, 1922.  Annie’s parents were Nick and Theodora (Chornyshyn) Yurkiw and she was 1 of 16 children, (8 boys and 8 girls) and is survived by only one sibling, Teenie Prokopowich of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Annie married Nick Gylytiuk on October 26, 1940.  They lived in Grandview, Manitoba on their farm, later moving to Thompson, Manitoba with their 6 children.

Annie is pre-deceased by her husband Nick Gylytiuk who passed away on September 16, 1966 and shortly thereafter Annie moved to Dauphin, Manitoba, where she enjoyed a life where she continued to raise her 4 youngest children.  On October 10, 1968 Annie married George Zazulak, of Sifton, Manitoba, who lovingly assisted in raising Annie’s 4 youngest children.  George passed away on February 9, 1987.

Annie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children.  She loved spending time in her garden, singing, telling jokes, playing tricks on people, making perogies, going for car rides with her children and the list just goes on and on of the things she loved doing in life.  She just enjoyed life to the fullest and everyone can agree to that!

Annie continued to live in her home in Dauphin, Manitoba.  She eventually moved to assisted living homes in Dauphin, Manitoba, Olds, Alberta and Innisfail, Alberta.

Annie is survived by her children Ernie and wife Marie Gylytiuk of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Stan and wife Lynn Gylytiuk of Madoc, Ontario, Dianne and husband Frank Powney of Olds, Alberta, Bob and wife Corine Gylytiuk of Edmonton, Alberta, Brian and wife Irina Gylytiuk of Kelowna, B.C. and Gary and wife Jean Gylytiuk of Kelowna, B.C.

Annie is survived by: Grand Children - Carolyn, Glenn, Terry, Carey, Kimberly, Shane, Tammy G, Darryl, Clinton, Tammy P, Kiera, Nick, Katherine, Ilyia, Bryce and Devyn.
Great Grand Children  - David, Nicole, Kendall, Louie, Joey, Nikki, Melissa, Kirsten, Ashley, Katelyn, Tristan, Brooklyn, Cai, Jett, Kyler, Briana, Jaiden, Courtney, Ethan, Tai-Lee, Kevin, Keith, Meara and Hector. Great Great Grand Children - Gracey, Alixis, Hayden, Ada.

Annie is now reunited with family and friends whom she loved and cherished all of her life.  In her last days she looked forward to seeing them again.
