Anne Stratuliak Obituary

Peacefully, on March 12, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Residence in Winnipeg, MB, Anne Stratuliak (nee Marko) passed away at the age of 94 years.
Anne will be sadly missed by her children; daughter Nadia Grace Didur of Winnipeg, MB, and sons Myron Leonard Didur, Paul Didur, and Steven Didur of Winnipeg, MB; her grandchildren, Lynette Didur and Dawson Reed Didur of Brandon, MB, and Edward Didur; and her great-granddaughter, Nadia Carol Didur of Onaping, ON.
Anne was predeceased by her husbands, Paul Didur and Fred Stratuliak; her parents, John and Antonia Marko; and her brother, Alex Marko.
Anne was born February 18, 1924 in Zoria, MB and attended school in Ethelbert, MB where she excelled in Ukrainian dancing, singing, and sports. Anne married Paul Didur in 1946 and they settled in the farming community of Loon Lake where they raised four children: Myron, Paul, Steve, and Nadia. In July of 1976, Anne married Fred Stratuliak and they resided in Dauphin, MB. During her retirement years in Dauphin she enjoyed tending to a plentiful and beautiful garden, playing cards, growing flowers, attending agricultural fairs and rodeos, and travelling to the east and west coasts of Canada. Her most enjoyable trip was an Alaskan cruise. Anne’s entire life centered on her family and it was tradition that family came together for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations.
In 2008, Anne moved to Winnipeg. During her years in the Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, she enjoyed many laughs with the residents, and cherished the moments on the outings to the Assiniboine Zoo where she loved to see all the exotic animals and even got to touch and feed the geese.  The outings to Pantages to see Ukrainian dancing were her favourite and you could see her foot tapping to the Ukrainian music. Folklorama and tasting the different foods at the Pavilions were a treat to her. Kildonan Park and looking at the beautiful flowers and the ducks in the pond were a favourite pastime for Sundays. And I must not forget the many Elvis shows she went to and those photo moments with him. Even though she had a disability, she still enjoyed her life to the fullest.
The family would like to thank the medical staff, Dr. Terry Babick and Dr. Andrea Babick for their extraordinary care and compassion during her stay at St. Joseph’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 401-1 Wesley Ave., Winnipeg MB, R3C 4C6.
