Anne Gulenchin

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Gulenchin on April 29, 2022 at the Grandview Hospital in Grandview, MB. Anne was predeceased by her parents Dmytro and Teklia Gulenchin, brothers Michael, Bill, Roy and sister Jeanne.

She will lovingly be remembered by her two sisters Mary, and Helen (Mike) Bomak, brother Dennis (Donna) Gulenchin and sister-in-law Lorraine Gulenchin as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Anne was born in Whitemouth, MB and started school in Elma, MB.  She started her career very early with different jobs and ended her career at the Bay in Winnipeg.  She retired to Dauphin in 1989.  

She was an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, teaching Catechism, assisting with Liturgies and with patients in wheelchairs at St. Paul's Home.  She was an active member of the Legion of Mary, UCWL, World Apostolate of Fatima, and an associate of Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate (SSMI).  She travelled on pilgrimages throughout Canada with the Legion of Mary.  Anne also travelled extensively to many countries in Europe including west England and Ireland.  Her most memorable and favorite trip was to Lviv Ukraine where she visited her parents and relatives homeland in nearby Sokolov. 

Anne will be remembered for her kindness and generosity that was reflected in how she lived her every day life and how she cared for others. 

We will miss our angel dearly.  Vichnaya Pam'yat / Вічна Пам'ять - Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord.

Rosary was led by the Ladies Apostolate of Fatima prior to the Funeral Liturgy on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin, MB with Very Rev Father Oleg Bodnarski officiating.  Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
