Anna Pinette, née Miller, of Ste. Rose du Lac passed away suddenly at the Ste. Rose Gendreau Home on January 7th, 2026. Born on October 23, 1948, Anna lived to the age of 77.
She leaves behind her husband Emile, daughter Nadine (Torynn) and son Ian, with his wife Anita (Parker, Mikaela, Seth). Also to mourn her are her brother Clifford, his wife Gisele (Angie and Tyson) and her little furry companion, Maggie.
She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Marie Miller, in-laws Andre and Marie Pinette, and many family members and friends.
Anna spent her life in Ste. Rose du Lac. Her career as a bilingual teacher spanned thirty years. She specialized in teaching Kindergarten to Grade 2 at Ste. Rose School or École Laurier. She loved to read, write, paint, act, fish, and play cards or Scrabble.
She was a member of the Catholic Church, pro-life group, marriage and baptism preparation, Dreamweavers writing and art group, community choir, Heritage gallery and involved with Rose Inc.
She loved her community and adored living on her little acreage along the Turtle River. Home was her happy place, where she would relax on the deck, cast a few lines in the river, tend to her vegetable and flower gardens, or play with her children and grandchildren.
Anna visited Niagara Falls, Banff, British Columbia, Dryden Ontario and the International Peace Gardens. She saw Pope John Paul II in Winnipeg and Mother Teresa in Toronto and attended the Expo 67 in Montréal. Anna was an explorer, but all her best adventures took place alongside her family, either in Ste. Rose or Minnedosa.
Unfortunately, Anna’s health began to deteriorate, and she moved to the Gendreau Home in the fall of 2022. Her husband Emile spent every day with her, and Anna continued to celebrate every holiday and special occasion in the comfort of her home.
Anna will be greatly missed but we know that she is with the Lord.
A Funeral Mass was held for Anna on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm from the Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church in Ste Rose du Lac with Fr Moise Adossou officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ste. Rose Cemetery .
