Alice McLean Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alice Myrtle (Richardson) McLean of Dauphin, Manitoba on August 11, 2019 at the age of 100.
Alice was born on July 5, 1919 in Dauphin, Manitoba to Harold and Myrtle Richardson, the only daughter of seven children.
At the young age of 17, Alice fell in love and married John Edward McLean.  Together they raised a family of six on their family farm just outside of Dauphin.  Alice was an active member of the community.  She belonged to many groups including the Spruce Bluff Ladies, Good Neighbors Club, Horticulture Club, Seniors Club and the Pioneer Association.  Alice had a passion for knitting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening and dancing.  Alice and Jack did a lot of dancing together.  Alice loved spending time with her friends and family.  Her loved ones were always welcome to come over for a meal, cup of tea or game of cards.  Alice will be remembered for her kindness and quick wit, saying "It's no picnic!"
Alice is survived by one brother, Ken (Diane) Richardson; her children, Cecil (Karen) McLean, Judy (Jim) Mulligan, Linda (Poul) Buus, Noreen Seepish, Murray (Eileen) McLean and son-in-law Ted Messeyton; her 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Myrtle Richardson; her brothers Leonard (Lena), John, Lloyd (Maybelle), James (Jean) and Gordon (Amy) Richardson; her husband Jack McLean; daughter Thelma Messeyton and son-in-law Joseph Seepish.
The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Paul's Home in Dauphin for the care and compassion shown to Alice during the last two years of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
