Wilfred Bouvier Obituary

It is with great sadness that we as a family announce the passing of Joseph David Wilfred Bouvier. Wilfred passed away August 21, 2019 at the Roblin and District Hospital, after a full and eventful life of 80 years.
Wilfred was the son of Albert Bouvier and Evelyn Maliterre, born October 9, 1938 at Boggy Creek Manitoba. He was raised on his family farm by the Shell River and also enjoyed spending a great deal of time on his grandparent’s farm just down the road. His school years were spent at the Grande Prairie school where completed his grade 8. Later as an adult, Wilfred proudly completed his GED in Roblin. In his life time, he worked many jobs in different trades. He was employed as a truck driver, logger, trapper, mechanic, cat operator and proprietor of his own carpentry business. He also spent a short time working for Manitoba housing as a maintenance coordinator. In addition to his many working titles, he loved to volunteer. Wilfred enjoyed being a scout leader, ambulance first responder and fire fighter. Wilfred was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for almost 40 years, a 4th degree Knight as well as a former Grand Knight.

Wilfred was predeceased by his father, Albert in 1962; mother, Evelyn in 1995; grandson, Christopher in 1980; nephew, Geoffrey Angus in 1992, stepfather, Mike Bancarz in 2013 father in law, Jules Larocque in 1995 and brother in law, Len Angus, 2019. Wilfred is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yvette (nee Larocque and his five children, David (Laura) Bouvier, Robin Bouvier, Donna (Wayne) Piwniuk, Donald (Barb) Bouvier and Maxine (Neil) Ferris, his 11 grandchildren, their spouses and 7 great grandchildren and Wilfred’s only sister, Diane (Bill) Angus. Wilfred is also survived by his loving in-laws, nieces and nephews and a host of long-time friends.

The rosary was recited on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 6:30 pm with prayers at 7:00 pm at Sneath-Strilchuk Roblin Chapel in Roblin, MB. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Roblin with interment following at the Roblin Catholic Cemetery.
