Violet Morton Obituary

Violet Morton Born.. March 2, 1933 in Dauphin, MB. Death.. October 22, 2018
Violet lived with her parents and 3 siblings at Spruce Creek District until 1939, when they moved to a farm in the RM of Ochre River.
Vi married Edward Morton, August 10, 1948 and moved to a farm 2 miles west of Makinak, MB. They had 3 children, Jeannette, Mervin {Laura}, Barry {Bernadette}.
She was a very busy lady on this farm, she helped by milking cows, fed cattle, horses, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and with haying and harvest.
Her green thumb was very present in her abundant garden, and houseplants.
Her house was spotless, floors were always polished and glistened.  Many times, we heard the comment,” we could eat off your floors”
She was an amazing cook and baker, bread, buns, cinnamon buns, pies, and her seven-layer dinner was popular with the threshing crew, MTS & Hydro local crews. She loved cooking for a hungry crew of workers, and of course the complements were an added bonus. Yay to the days of the tailgate meals on the red checkered tablecloth.
When someone came to the house they had to eat.
Due to Ed’s poor health they moved to Dauphin in 1981. They enjoyed going out for coffee every day and visiting with friends.
Ed passed away in April 2000, and her world fell apart, they spent every minute together until this time. Eight years later she moved into the Dauphin PCH.
Vi is survived by her 3 children, Jeannette, Mervin , & Barry;  8 Grandchildren, Audrey , Bev, Murray , Kevin , David , Jenni-Lynn, Vincent , Jon;
