Tillie (Tytiana) Lewycky was born to Anton and Justyna Holowachuk on February 24, 1919 in Pine River. Tillie attended school in Pine River, Fishing River and, also worked in Winnipeg. She returned to Pine River and was married January 15, 1943 to Michael Lewycky who predeceased her December 5, 1991. They lived in the Pine River area until moving to Dauphin in July 1957.
Tillie passed away Saturday July 6, 2019 at the Dauphin Personal Care Home at the age of 100.
She is survived by sons, Laverne (Lois), Dave (Rose), Orest (Delores) and Aaron; daughters, Virginia (Larry) de Vries and Bernice (Barry) Boyechko. Grandchildren, David Lewycky II, Dee-Michael (Charity) Lewycky, Darla (Tim) Thiessen, Sharon Schaafsma, Melissa (Justin) McLellan, Lukas de Vries, Daria Hrytsay (predeceased), Amanda (Dan) Funk, Darcy (Sarah), Adam (Kristy) and Dylan Hrytsay, Dayna (Dale) Brunger, Alicia (Jeremy) Gillis and Adrienne Hrytsay, Laura Sime. Great-grandchildren, Anthony and Megan Schaafsma, Cheyenne, Elaina, Daphne Lewycky, Jack McLellan, Kezia and Jenessa Thiessen, Adrian, Danette, Cody, Donavon, Nicolas, Calvin, Layne, Connor, Declan, Tyler and Emily. Great-great grandchildren, Eric, William and Abigail. She is also survived by sisters and brother, Mary Gogol, Jean Poitras, Jean Holowachuk and Peter & Celia Holowachuk and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held for Tillie on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 4:00 pm from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin with Rev. Laverne Lewycky & David Lewycky officiating.
Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery.
