Ruth Froese Obituary

Ruth Ann Froese was born to Wilhelm and Maria Banman Niessen on March 13, 1924 at Plum Coulee, Manitoba. She passed away unexpectedly at the Grandview hospital on July 4, 2018 reaching the age of 94 years.
She spent her childhood years at Plum Coulee and Dominion City, Manitoba. As a youth, she decided to serve the Lord. She, together with her sister Susie was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite at Rosenort by Minister Isaac Toews on May 18, 1944. Mom married our father, Henry Froese at Rosenort on May 27, 1945. They shared almost 57 precious years together till Dad passed away in 2002. Our parents made their home at Rosenort, Manitoba till the spring of 1962 when they moved to Grandview with their family of three boys and three girls. Another daughter was born at Grandview.
Later in life, Mom and Dad enjoyed a time of service in Nigeria. Sometime after retiring from farming, they bought a house in the town of Grandview and moved there in 1991. In August of 2010, Mom moved to the Mountainview Apartments. When she no longer felt comfortable living on her own in her apartment, she moved to the Maplewood Manor in May, 2016.
Mom had a deep spiritual concern for her family, often encouraging us to be faithful, right to the end of her earthly life. She left us with an assurance that she was ready to meet her Lord. She spent the last twelve days with her family at Grandview and Roblin.
Left to cherish fond memories are her children: Wayne and Susan; Lois and Peter Reimer; Dale and Dessie, Rodney and Stella, all of Grandview, Manitoba; Julia and Calvin Friesen, Roblin, Manitoba; Lucille and Jeff Penner, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia; Audrey and Maynard Friesen, Leamington, Ontario, twenty-nine grandchildren, and fifty-eight greatgrandchildren: sister Susie, Steinbach, Manitoba and brother Joe and Theo, Carstairs, Alberta; sisters-in-law Kay Froese, Abbotsford, B.C., Frieda Isaac, Steinbach, Manitoba.
The Wedel grandchildren and great grandchildren that recently joined the family were also very precious to her.
She was predeceased by her husband and one daughter-in-law.
We as a family wish to extend our appreciation to the Maplewood Manor staff for the loving care they gave her.
