Russell Marincl

Russell Marincl, age 86, formerly of Leslie SK, passed away surrounded by his family in Roblin, MB on August 6, 2019.
Russell was born to Phillip and Mary Marincl (Boyko) in the village of Elfros, SK. Later Phillip and Mary would move to Leslie, SK. In the early years Russell worked many hours on the family farm with his father and brother. Later he would move to Vancouver to work for his auntie Annie in her family business.
After returning to Saskatchewan 1962 Russell met the love of his life, Phyllis. They were married the following June. They resided in Leslie, SK where dad farmed 3 quarter sections until taking a job in Thompson, Manitoba at the Mine where he worked until his retirement in 1991. Russell and Phyllis retired to Boissevain, MB and lived there until finding his final home in Roblin, MB.
Russell and Phyllis had three children, Joseph, Nancy (Terry) and Cindy (Ray), grandchildren, Whitney and Matthew (Nancy), Step-grand-children, Raymond & Stephan (Cindy) and Riley (Joe). He is predeceased by his father, Phillip, Mother Mary, Brother Mike and sister, Irene.
Russell was a Jack of all Trades” kind of guy...very seldom that there was a repair man that came into the home to do repairs. Russell was fairly handy with tools as well. When mom and dad took up camping, the first years he spent many evenings and Saturdays building a camper for the back of his truck. Russell was not afraid of hard work and he took pride in any job given. Russell also loved to fish and was an avid bowler.
He was always teasing or joking with someone.....whether it be Phyllis, or his children/grandchildren, he liked a good joke. He had a big heart and was always there to chip in when work needed to be done. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The family would like to send a special Thank you to Whitney, for taking time out of her life to take great care of Russell. For without her, we wouldn’t have had the time we did. We are forever grateful.
 

A Memorial Service was held for Russell on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 am from the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel in Roblin, MB with Father Brent Kuzyk officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. A time of fellowship and refreshments with the family was held in the Chapel foyer.
