Roy Leonard Sloboda

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Roy Leonard Sloboda of Rorketon, MB on October 2, 2018 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. 

At the age of 77, Roy is survived by his daughter Sheryl (John) and his son Darren (Erin); four grandchildren Christopher, Devon, Marissa and Matthew; sisters Ruth Zurba, Patricia Pascal (David); brothers Ronald (Gloria) and Fred (Holly) along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by his parents, Fred Sloboda and Mary Sawchuk; brothers Robert and Russell Sloboda; brother-in-law Victor Zurba and nephew Jerry Zurba.  Roy lived in Dauphin from 1972 until 2012 when he moved to be closer to his homestead.  He was passionate about gardening, antique automobiles and his love for country music.

His family would like to thank the staff at Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Dr's Sexton and Scott and all those who helped out during recent times.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy can be made to Cancer Care MB.

A Memorial Service will be held for Roy on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin with Father Patrick Neufeld officiating.  

Family Interment will follow in the Oak Brae Cemetery .
