On November 18, 2018 - Peter Rehaluk passed away into the loving arms of Jesus at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home.

Peter was born on June 24, 1921 to Michael & Amelia Rehaluk in East Bay District (near Rorketon). In 1923, the family moved to Rhodes area.

Peter came from a family of 10 - Bill, Philip, Stephanie, Paul, Dan, Steve, Kay, Mary, Eileen and Anne. Peter grew up in the Rhodes area and continued to stay there farming with his parents until 1946.

June 1, 1946 Peter married Anne Wolochatiuk and enjoyed over 65 years of marriage together.  They were blessed with 5 children: 3 sons and 2 daughters. They moved to Ethelbert where they farmed until 1977. Then moved to the village of Ethelbert until 2011, when Peter moved to Dauphin.

Peter is survived by his children Peter and finance Rita of Dauphin, Adele of Ethelbert, Terry and wife Brenda of Black Diamond, AB, Greg and wife Arlene at the family farm in Ethelbert, Theresa of Brandon. Peter was also blessed with many grand-children and great grand-children. Sheri and husband Chris, their 5 children: Sean, Ryan, Sarah, Joshua, Grace, David and wife Cassandra, Rachel and husband Chase, Dondina husband Andrew, their daughter Kara, Lisa, Belinda and son Jacob, Michael, Troy.

He is also survived by sister Anne Bodnar of Yorkton, SK. Peter was predeceased by his parents, his wife Anne, brothers and sisters and son-in-law Chris.

Every family visit was very special to Peter with many laughs, singing, playing games and playing tricks on each other.

He enjoyed farming through the years. Although at one point in his younger years he mentioned that he wanted to join the Army but was not allowed to accomplish this dream because of his elderly father at the time.

Peter was not a man to sit around. He enjoyed challenges and was very community oriented. Some of the accomplishments were: contributing to the building of the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and Curling Rink in Ethelbert, using his team of horses to haul the logs.

He spent 21 years as a counselor for the RM (Rural Municipality) of Ethelbert and 8 years as a counselor for the village of Ethelbert. He also served as a President, Vice-president, and Secretary at the St. Peter’s and Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.

He also was part of the Church Choir, Vitriwka Choral Ensemble and Ukrainian Festival Choir. He was still singing in the Ukrainian Festival Choir till the age of 95.  Peter volunteered at the Ethelbert Museum.

Peter’s passion was watching Hockey Night in Canada as well as CFL Football, curling and baseball. He also enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and curling; and had a strong right hand throwing horse shoes. He also loved gardening, woodworking and politics and community events.

In closing - some of the qualities that we most admire about our father: his Strong Faith in God, his Love for Life and Determination.

Forever in our hearts.  You will be missed.  We love you.
