Every family visit was very special to Peter with many laughs, singing, playing games and playing tricks on each other.
He enjoyed farming through the years. Although at one point in his younger years he mentioned that he wanted to join the Army but was not allowed to accomplish this dream because of his elderly father at the time.
Peter was not a man to sit around. He enjoyed challenges and was very community oriented. Some of the accomplishments were: contributing to the building of the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and Curling Rink in Ethelbert, using his team of horses to haul the logs.
He spent 21 years as a counselor for the RM (Rural Municipality) of Ethelbert and 8 years as a counselor for the village of Ethelbert. He also served as a President, Vice-president, and Secretary at the St. Peter’s and Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
He also was part of the Church Choir, Vitriwka Choral Ensemble and Ukrainian Festival Choir. He was still singing in the Ukrainian Festival Choir till the age of 95. Peter volunteered at the Ethelbert Museum.
Peter’s passion was watching Hockey Night in Canada as well as CFL Football, curling and baseball. He also enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and curling; and had a strong right hand throwing horse shoes. He also loved gardening, woodworking and politics and community events.
In closing - some of the qualities that we most admire about our father: his Strong Faith in God, his Love for Life and Determination.
