Pearl Lynn Obituary

On October 18, 2018 Pearl Lynn of Dauphin passed away at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Donna (Hank) Nykiforuk; son Michael; brother Jack (Evelyn) Streyko; sisters Mary & Nellie; nieces, nephews and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents;  sister Ann Harcus; half brothers Steve, Mike & John Dubinack; half sister Tina Hryhoruk.
Pearl was born in Meadowlands, MB. After completing school she ventured to Hamilton, ON.  While living in Hamilton she purchased a Harley Davidson and joined the Black Hawks Motorcycle Club, she was one of the only women in the club.  She was a participant in the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Parade in St. Catherine's in 1953.  In 1954 she returned to Winnipegosis and married Joseph Lynn.  They operated a restaurant for the duration of their marriage.  Pearl then moved to Dauphin and was employed at the Royal Canadian Legion from 1974 until her retirement in 1992.
Pearl's faith was a part of her life.  She loved to assist the Women's League with food preparation and serving.  Later in life she could not physically attend church but read the Bible and listened to TV and radio broadcasts.  Pearl was a member of the Ladies of the Royal Purple Dauphin Lodge No. 87, now no longer in existence.  Travel was a big part of her life.  She enjoyed several bus tours coast to coast in Canada and most of the US including Disneyland as well as trips to Hawaii, Cuba, Bahamas, Venezuela, Spain, Alaska and Yukon.  Donna and Pearl flew to Hamilton, ON for a special 80th birthday celebration, visiting Niagara Falls and attending a Blue Jays game.  Pearl enjoyed sports, archery, golfing & curling.  Later in life she enjoyed walks in the park and indoors at the walking track during the winter.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Home Care staff and special friend 'Val" who were all so supportive, helpful, caring and affectionate toward Mom.  Also thanks to Uncle Jack and niece Barb for the weekly phone calls, Mom looked forward to them with much anticipation.
