Patricia (Pat) Milburn, beloved wife of William (Bill) Milburn, passed away suddenly in the early hours of January 1, 2019 at their home in Dauphin, Manitoba.  Pat was was born on May 3, 1947 in Portage la Prairie, the eldest daughter of William and Shirley Green. She was pre-deceased by her parents, brother Gordon Green and sister Linda Mae Green. She is survived by her husband (Bill), son Scott (Leah), daughter Lori and grandchildren Cohen, Gray and Nova as well as her sister Donna (John) Kirkbride and brother Rick (Cheryl) and several nieces and nephews.

Pat grew up on the family farm in Portage and attended East Prospect elementary school then moved on to high school at Portage Collegiate Institute. After high school Pat completed a secretarial course and began her career. She worked in Portage at BC Pea Growers, Manitoba School and at the Medical Lab and X-Ray Division of the Portage Hospital. Pat and Bill married in 1969 and moved to Dauphin in 1982. In Dauphin, Pat worked at Barker Elementary School and then the DRCSS High School for 20 years.

Pat and Bill were actively involved in their children’s activities such as precision skating, baton, music lessons, as well as hockey, skiing, golfing, curling and water sports. Pat also enjoyed crafts, especially sewing, knitting and quilting. Many of her family and friends were given scarves, baby blankets and afghans made by Pat.  She had a strong, active social network and participated in many community events.

During their retirement, Pat and Bill traveled extensively to locations including Dominican Republic, Hawaii and throughout Canada.  They also had a winter home in Arizona for 6 years and enjoyed the many activities and built lasting friendships wherever their travels took them.

More recently, Pat was content to stay closer to Dauphin, to spend time with her grandchildren, Cohen and Gray.  She especially enjoyed many good times at the Elkhorn Resort watching the kids play in the pool. Pat often boasted about her lovely grandchildren to all of her friends and family, she was a proud grandmother.
