Mattie (Bosiak) Smaluck

Mattie Smaluck, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Paul's Personal Care Home in Dauphin.  She was born on December 24, 1923 in Gilbert Plains, MB to Alex and Margaret Bosiak (Hominuk).  Mattie lived on a farm and grew up in the Keld area.  She married Peter Smaluck in 1945 in Dauphin.  Together they raised their family in Dauphin during which Mattie was a stay at home mom.  Some of her favourite times were playing games with her grandchildren.  Mattie also enjoyed gardening, knitting and bowling.  She is survived by two children Lorraine Cairns and Ken (Allison) Smaluck, 3 grandchildren, Aaron Smaluck, Adam Smaluck and Dana Smaluck.  Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Peter, her parents, and her sister Alice Michayluk.
The family will host a gathering on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Parkland Crossing Multipurpose Room to celebrate her life.  The Smaluck family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at St. Paul's Personal Care Home for their attentiveness and loving care.
