Mary Zamonsky passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on August 18th , 2018 at the Grandview Personal Care Home. Mary was born to Philip and Pauline Komishin on November 15th, 1921 in Grandview, Manitoba.
Mary was predeceased by her father Philip, mother Pauline, husband Michael, daughter Helen, granddaughter Angela, brothers John, Mike, Nick, Peter, sisters Stella and Annie.
Surviving Mary are two sons Fred (Rosaline) of Yorkton, Andy (Marlene) of Grandview, son-in-law Joe Slobozian of Shortdale, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary worked as a housekeeper in several homes until she met Michael Zamonsky. On April 12th, 1942 Michael and Mary were married. They farmed in the Grandview area where they raised 3 beautiful children.
Mary enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and sewing clothing. Mary was an excellent seamstress and sewed clothing and did alterations for her family, friends and anyone requiring them.
When Michael passed in 1983 Mary stayed on the farm for 2 1/2 years then decided to move to Gilbert Plains where she lived for 31 1/2 years.
In October 2016 Mary moved to the Grandview Personal Care Home where she resided until her passing.

Prayers were offered on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 6:00 pm from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gilbert Plains, MB.
Funeral Liturgy was held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:00 am from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gilbert Plains, MB with Very Rev Father Oleg Bodnarski officiating. Interment followed in Shortdale Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Shortdale, MB. Pallbearers were Kevin Zamonsky, Steve Zamonsky, Debbie Liske, Doug Zamonsky, Chris Slobozian, Corey Slobozian.
