Marion Lobert Obituary

Marion Lobert of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the age of 64 years.

Marion (Mazz) Denise Lobert (Pederson), was born October 30, 1955 at the Swan Valley Regional Hospital in Swan River MB.
Marion was the seventh, of nine children born to Molly Gwendalyne Rose Pederson (Cole) and Andreas Pederson. Marion was forever surrounded by her siblings Lenora (Pederson) and Herby Broconnier, Edward (Teddy) and Kathy Pederson, Sonja (Pederson) and Gary Sims, Ronald (Ronny) Pederson, Robert (Bobby) and Lynda Pederson, Arlyn (Pederson) and Kevin Cale, Kathleen (Casey) and Dennis Brisebois, and Arnold (Arnie) and Rhonda Pederson. Each sibling and their spouse had a very special place in Marion’s heart. She genuinely cherished their company and loved them each very much.
As her siblings got married, along came an abundance of nieces and nephews that Marion created not just relationships with but true friendships. Hours were spent laughing and joking with those nieces and nephews that were close to Marion (texting and poking fun at her siblings). However, she would mention each and every one of them with great affection and pride; Stephen and Michelle, Trevor and Tracy, Leona and Kevin, Laurie, Lauren and Arron, Corey and Meghan, Lisa, Ryan, Rickie and Arnel. This is not mentioning the “great” nieces and nephews, of which there were many!
Marion met Blaine Kushniryk in 1975 and they married that same year. This introducing her to a large happy and loving new family. They wasted no time starting a family and introduced Jeremy Blaine Kushniryk to the world on January 6, 1976. Jeremy was loved and adored by Marion and Blaine, and the rest of the Kushinryk/Pederson clans. He was the start to a family that Marion would forever make her life’s goal to keep happy. Next, they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Dawn Peel (KushniryK) on November 9, 1978. With the introduction of their daughter, Marion and Blaine decided that their family was complete (plus God broke the mold when they made Jennifer)!
After many cherished years of marriage, Marion and Blaine parted ways. Each remained close with each other’s family and would ask, from time to time, how the other was doing. They always wanted the best for each other.
Marion met David Gordon Lobert while on a bowling trip with friends and they made an instant connection.  Marion enjoyed Dave’s humor and his closeness to his family, and they were married on January 12, 1996, with this January marking 25 years of marriage. With this marriage Marion was introduced to another, very large and loving family.  Marion was blessed with creating a close relationship with Dave’s mother, Arlene, as well as all of Dave’s siblings and their families, which there are plenty!
On April 12, 2005 Marion welcomed her first granddaughter; Gwendalyne (Gwen) Marie Peel.  Gwen was born to Jennifer (KushniryK) and Blair Peel. Gwen changed the world for Marion and her family. Marion and Dave would fly to BC to visit Gwen regularly.  Gwen and Marion became best buds and Gwen would seek out grandma every time she needed extra love or for grandma to give Jen and Blair crap for punishing her, she had grandma tied around her little finger, and she did up until the very end. The relationship they shared was special. Next, on December 21, 2009 Marion was present to welcome Lord Russell (Russy) Alexander Peel to the mix.  He became the scrappy little buggar that kept grandma on her toes. Together; Marion, Dave, Jen, Blair, Gwen and Russy would travel all over to Mexico, Kelowna and spend countless hours holidaying and enjoying the BC summers. We will all miss Grandma very much (drinks by the pool).
Marion’s son Jeremy settled down with Jenny Cowan and welcomed Grace, who was born June 23, 2007 into the family. Marion was then blessed with another granddaughter; Molly Anne Kushniryk on March 28, 2012. Marion would enjoy coming and watching the girls do their Ukrainian dance competitions and spending holiday brunches with Jeremy and his motley crew! The girls would come to Grandma Marion’s and visit and enjoy her treats.
In the mix came Amie Lobert, born to Ryan Lobert and Gen on May 25, 2010.
Last, but not least was Zack, born on December 16, 2016 to Jennifer and Gerald Czinkota.
Marion was a fighter! Her first battle with cancer was fought and won, with pride and determination. This last battle was one that not only caught us all off guard but took a major toll on her strength and ability to fight. Although it succeeded, she fought till the very end. On November 24, 2019 at 10:15pm Marion Denise Lobert (Pederson) lost her battle to Cancer and her family lost a big piece of itself. Never once did she fight her battle alone and never once was there an empty place at her bedside. She left this world surrounded by the love she gave and got back in return.
My mom was an amazing lady who loved so hard and strong.  She took on others pain and would wear her heart on her sleeve. I know how she touched those who knew her, and we know how much she will be missed. From our family, to all of you, we thank you for loving our mother and for knowing how special she truly was.
Mom, I will miss you too much for words. My heart is broken.
