Mabel DeWarle Obituary

It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Mabel Hilda (Sabiston) DeWarle on Monday, September 30, 2019 of Dauphin, MB at the age of 76 years.
Mabel was born on February 1, 1943 in Meadow Portage to William and Rosa (Spence) Sabiston.  Her childhood was spent helping out on the family farm in Spence Lake, MB with her sister, Margaret and her brother, Jim. Being with family was so important to Mabel. One of her fondest childhood memories was helping make hay with the family followed by a picnic of her mom's delicious cooking. Mabel married the love of her life Edward John DeWarle (Johnny) in 1965. She often said that Johnny pulled up next to her in his 1964 Impala and she knew he was the one, so handsome and charming. They made their home on the DeWarle farm north of Dauphin. Johnny and Mabel were blessed with 4 boys Dean, John, Terry and Ryan. She often told her grandchildren what a handful they were but she loved them all so dearly.  In 1987 Mabel moved to the Pas to attend Keewatin Community College to obtain her LPN nursing diploma. It was a hard move leaving Johnny and Ryan to fend for themselves but was an accomplishment she was so proud of. Upon graduation she was employed at the Dauphin Personal Care Home and worked there until her retirement. Anyone who knew Mabel knew what a strong-minded woman she was, from raising four boys, to helping on the farm, to hanging her own cupboards!  There was nothing she couldn't do and she instilled that determination in her boys and her grandchildren.
Mabel is survived by her sons, Dean (Amy), John (Carla), Terry, Ryan (Shannon); grandchildren Kaytlyn, Keegan, Kennedi, Nolan, Taelyr, Michele, Jakob, John Austin and Christopher; great- grandchildren Decian, Adria, Elias and Rowynn. Mabel treasured each one of them. Mabel is also survived by her sister, Margaret; and brother, Jim (Bernice), as well as many nephews, nieces and close friends.
Mabel was predeceased by her parents, William and Rosa; husband, Johnny; and brother-in-law, Hans; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
