Lloyd Menard Obituary

Lloyd Menard of Winnipegosis, Manitoba passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the age of 72 years.

Lloyd Peter Donald Menard was born on November 12th 1946 in Winnipegosis MB to Aime & Flora Menard. Lloyd had nine siblings Walter, Henry, John, Neville, Winston, Leona, Henry N., Florence & Danny. They grew up on a farm just outside of Camperville. He attended school and graduated from Winnipegosis Collegiate Institute. At 18  years old, he became a miner in Thompson ,MB until he met Doreen Thompson. They married in September, 1972  and      together, raised five children; Sheila, Jerry, Billy, Jeffery and Franklin in Camperville,    Winnipeg and Duck River, MB. He worked through Man Power in Camperville until they moved to the city where he attended Red River College for mechanics. He worked at a  dealership for a few years. He then commuted to work on his younger brothers’ farms while his family stayed in the city; he had a hand in starting the farms up then moved out to Duck River with his family to their own farm. He loved spending time with his children and teaching them. He spent countless nights playing cards with his brothers then listening to them play country music on the guitar and fiddle. He loved watching hockey with them; it would get quite loud at times! He moved again to Camperville with his wife and younger sons then retired to Winnipegosis, MB. He spent his days chatting with the locals, visiting family, watching hockey, throwing his baseball, listening to the radio and having coffee at Foxy’s. He loved getting calls or visits from his children and grandkids. Lloyd always had a smile for anyone who greeted him.

Lloyd is predeceased by his father, Aime Menard; mother, Flora Menard; siblings, Henry Menard (infant), Winston Menard, Leona Mongeon, Florence Menard, Danny Menard, nephew Monte Menard, son-in-law Derek Moosetail. He is survived by the mother of his children, Doreen; daughter, Sheila (Alley) [Angie (Dallas)-Nick, Summer, Jayce, Damien, Serenity, Reagan, Ainsley; Derek II-Landen, Derek III, Aubree; Alyssa (Sidney)-Sophie, Khloe; Aliyah; Allen J]; son, Jerry (Carla) [Preston-Shasta, Preslee, Joseph; Simone-Romeo, Orlando,  Emelio; Clint-Chloe; Jerry; Kayla]; son, Bill (Charlene) [Brandi G.; Billy-Jo; Brandi (Tristan)-Niko, Levi; Maverick-Nadia; Corale]; son, Jeff (Corinne); son, Frank (Niki)-[Cody; Faith].  Brothers-Walter (Grace), John (Verlie), Neville (Solonge), Henry N. (Norene) and numerous relatives.

A Funeral Mass was held for Lloyd on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 am from the Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Camperville with Father John Okosun officiating.  

Interment follwed in the Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Cemetery.
