John Strilkiwski passed away in peace on December 3rd, 2019, with family close at hand in the Dauphin Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years. A proud member of the Parkland, John had been a hard working man his whole life, being community oriented, starting several successful businesses and raising a loving family. He loved the outdoors and wildlife of all kinds, hunting and fishing, playing cards with friends, operating and driving any matter of machinery or vehicle and just being with family. In his later years he always looked forward to wintering down south in their camper in Laughlin, with his beloved Anne, spending many hours in the bingo halls and visiting with all their fellow snow birds.
John is predeceased by his parents Nick and Sophie, his sister Mary and brother Peter .
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Anne, his brothers and sisters Elizabeth (Bruce), Margaret (Joe), Paul (Marie) and Joseph. His sons Gerald (Bonnie) and Harvey (Sherry), his grandchildren Travis (Lisa), Jonna (Dawson), Dillan (Sydney) and great-grandson Zaedyn along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Father Brent Kuzyk officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB. Pallbearers were Dillan Strilkiwski, Jonna Strilkiwski, Lisa Saunders, Sydney Brezden, Laurie James, Linley James.
