Joan (Komarnicki) Feschuk

Joan "Joanie" Dolores Feschuk (nee Komarnicki) of Dauphin, passed away on October 21, 2018 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 70.

Joan was born August 12, 1949 to parents Andrew and Nettie (Moshenko) Komarnicki at the Dauphin General Hospital.  

Joan was raised on the family farm in the Ukraina / Sifton area.  She would fondly talk about growing up on the farm, the chores they would have to do and all the family gatherings and memorable, enjoyable holidays.  Joan attended school in Sifton grades 1-8 and finished grades 9-12 at Dauphin Collegiate Technical Institute.  After high school she moved to Winnipeg and worked at MTS for a short time and lived in a small room in a house on Canora Street.  She loved to talk about the adventures in the city.  On May 20, 1972 she married John Feschuk (divorced) and they lived in the Pas, MB for seven years.  Joan had two children, Eric Feschuk and Wendy Feschuk.  Joan returned to Dauphin 1979-1980 and raised her two children.  While they we growing up Joan volunteered at the elementary school they attended and always made sure they were her priority.  In the early 1990's Joan started her career with home care and thoroughly enjoyed her job, caring for her clients until she retired in 2015 at the age of 67.  After she retired she kept herself busy by volunteering at the Friendship Centre,  and took out of town trips with friends and enjoyed her wonderful group of coffee friends. Joan loved to laugh and joke and was willing to do everything and anything.

Joan is survived by her children, Eric Feschuk of Ontario, Wendy Feschuk of Winnipeg, MB; her siblings Audrey Feschuk (Komarnicki) husband Jim Feschuk of Prince Albert, SK - their children Roy Feschuk his wife Janine Feschuk, children Kayleigh, Emily, Kiel Feschuk; Lori Feschuk of Halfmoon Bay, BC, children William and Xavier Blackmon; John Komarnicki of the Pas, MB &  Ron Komarnicki of Sifton, MB; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Nettie Komarnicki (Moshenko) in 1998, Andrew Komarnicki in 2013.

A huge thank you to the medical teams at Winnipeg Health Science Centre, GSA and the wonderful people at Dauphin Regional Hospital 2nd floor medical staff, you will be forever in my thoughts.

Mom, I love you to the moon the sun the stars and back again.  I miss you terribly, it's not goodbye just  a really long see you later.  Lots of love forever and always. Wendy & all your family and friends.

Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 5:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Father Brent Kuzyk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in memory of Joan may be made to  Diabetes Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.
