Peacefully in her sleep on the morning of January 9, 2019, Jean Edna Kowal was ushered into the presence of Jesus Christ, her personal Lord and Saviour.
Jean was born in Grandview, Man on June 18, 1928 to Matt and Anne Pollock. She was the second eldest of six siblings. Her primary education was obtained at the Wicklow and Moranville district schools. Through her childhood, she worked on her parent's farm attending to all of the required chores, especially cooking, laundry and milking. A short term of employment off the farm at the Grandview hotel was of her choosing.
Jean married Mike Kowal on June 10, 1946 at Petlura Man. Before settling on the farm in Grandview they lived a short term in Flin Flon, Man. Together they raised four children, Barry, Denny, Evelynne and Darlene while they pursued their farming business in the Wicklow and Duck Mountain districts. They semi-retired to Dauphin in 1979 and finally retired from farming in 1994.
They were blessed with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was Baba who gave her all for them, whether it was in taking care fo them, taking them on trips or especially preparing incredible meals and holiday feasts.
