James Berry Obituary

James (Jim) Robert Berry of Gilbert Plains, MB passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Grandview Personal Care Home on June 4, 2019 at the age of 90 years.

In accordance with Jim's wishes cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Clara, of 69 years.  His is survived by his two older sisters, Florence Fisher of Dauphin, MB and Dorothy Robertson (Ed) of Delta, BC.  He is also survived by his seven children, Pat Dubek, Stan Berry, Donna Los, Roddy Berry (Liz), Shelley Hamilton (Dennis Basset), Willa Graham (Houndy) and Jaimie Watt (Mandy), along with his 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and long-time family friends.
Jim was a strong willed and stubborn man that had a fantastic gift of gab.  He could make friends with anyone that he crossed paths with.  He was a man that went along to the beat of his own drum.  Jim also had a passion for carpentry and woodworking.  The imagination that he had, he could come up with anything that came to mind or if someone asked him to make them something.  Jim was also an avid hunter and loved adventures.
Jim was a one of a kind Father, Uncle, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend.  He will be dearly missed.
Rest in Peace Jim.
Our family would like to extend a big thank you to all of the staff at the Grandview Personal Care Home for the amazing care they gave to Jim over this last year.  Thank you so much for all of your kindness and patience with him.  We gratefully appreciate it.
