Iris Ellen Harper of Brandon, Manitoba passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the age of 74 years.
Iris Ellen Harper (nee Gardiner) was born December 6, 1943 the second child of James and Pearl Gardiner.
Raised in Laurier /McCreary area she finished high school to continue with nurses training at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB.
She first worked in Ste. Rose du Lac, then The Pas before going to Prince George, B.C. where she met up with the --------- taking care of Mrs. Jeffries. She returned to McCreary in 1969 to work at the McCreary Hospital. It is there she met Eugene who she married in 1970. It was also the same year she committed her life to service in God.
Iris left nursing while her family was growing. She returned to work as a home care aide in the mid 80's from which she retired in the early 2000's. Eventually moving to Brandon where she passed into eternity on March 2, 2018.
Iris is predeceased by her father James, mother Pearl, step-father Donevan Glenn and brother Joseph. She is survive by her husband Eugene, daughters Laura, Karen (Lorne) and children Sonia & Morgan, Leanne (Jan) and son Cody, brothers George (Chris) and sister-in-law Judy, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held for Iris on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 am from the McCreary Community Centre in McCreary with Dustin Collins & Sharon Dorey officiating.
