Gerald Bodnariuk Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gerald Clay Bodnariuk on July 6, 2019 at the age of 55, in Grand Cache, Alberta. 

Jerry Bodnariuk of Neudorf, Saskatchewan and formerly of Inglis, MB, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the age of 55 years. Gerry was born on June 24, 1964 in Flin Flon, MB to Agnes Beilby. Shortly after Gerry was born, Agnes and him moved to The Pas, MB and she met and married Archie Jackson.  At the age of 3 Gerry lost his first father figure Archie in a tragic car accident. Then his mother met Wilfred Bodnariuk, who adopted Jerry as his own son. 

Gerry was raised on the family farm just outside of Inglis, MB. During his early years he was involved in 4H, enjoyed playing basketball and loved building models.  Gerry graduated high school in 1983 from Major Pratt in Russell, MB.  He also received a diploma in heavy equipment operator at Northern Lights College.  After that Gerry worked for various construction company's throughout Western Canada. As Gerry grew older he enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and resided in Neudorf, SK with his dog Oscar, whom had become his life. 

Gerry was predeceased by his sister Sue Ellen Trach, his grandparents Mike and Sadie Bodnariuk, James and Ellen Beilby, his uncles George Bodnariuk, Garry and Jerry Beilby and cousin Garry Couling. Gerry is survived by his parents Wilfred and Agnes Bodnariuk of Inglis, MB, bother James Bodnariuk of Brandon, MB, brother-in-law Miles Trach and his wife Elizabeth, nephews Brody Trach and Noah Trach all of Oak Bluff, MB, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held for Gerald on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm from the Inglis Community Hall in Inglis, MB.  

Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg at a later date.

Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
