Florence Gingera Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Florence Gingera (nee Nakonechny). Born March 24, 1935 in Ethelbert, the oldest child and only daughter of Wm. Nakonechny and Pauline Kolendriski.  Florence grew up on the family farm with her three brothers Edward, Dave and Barry.  She attended school at Rosa School, Pine River and Ethelbert.  Upon graduating high school Florence decided to pursue the teaching profession going to Normal School in Winnipeg for further education. Her first and only school posting was at Duck River, there she spent 2 years educating grades 1-9 finding this was not her expectations.  She moved to Dauphin in 1954, retail seemed appealing. She worked at the Mary Jayne Shoppe for some time, while here her school friend "Paul" came into the picture and their future began.  They were married in 1955 and blessed with five children. Florence kept busy looking after the family, baking, sewing, gardening, preserving.  In 1965 to supplement the family income she decided to go to work in the dental field, for Dr. Orville Heschuk, for which she had much love. She remained until her retirement in 2000.
Florence enjoyed the many camping and road trips with the family, also the winter holidays.  Time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy.  She took great pride in all the family accomplishments.  Since retirement she kept very active with the Ukrainian Catholic Church of which she is a member, she was also a member of the Ukrainian Catholic's Women's League of Dauphin, serving on the executive for some 18 years, as well as the Arch Eparchial Executive 2007-2011.
Florence was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1997; parents Wm. and Pauline, one brother, one nephew, two great nephews.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter Gerri (Jean) Rosset of Clear Lake, son Brent (Sharon) Gingera of Dauphin, daughter Wendy (Dave) Russell of Winnipeg, son Bob (Diane) Gingera of Dauphin, daughter Michelle (Gerald) Roncin of McCreary; grandchildren Daniel (Holly) Gingera and their children Danika and Jaxyn, Graceland and Zadonah, Dana (Paul) Paziuk and their children Chayne & Blayze, Emily & Claire Gingera, Nikolette & Bradley Roncin. Also surviving are her brothers Dave (Shirley) Nakonechny, Barry (Jan) Nakonecnhy; sister-in-law Nettie Nakonechny; numerous nieces and nephews, god children and extended family.
Our family would like to express deepest gratitude to all those who have offered consolation and support during this most difficult time.
