Evelyn Skwarok

In the morning hours of January 11th, 2019, our beloved aunty, great-aunty and sister-in-Law, Evelyn Skwarok, peacefully passed away at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 64.
Evelyn was born on January 21st, 1954 in Gilbert Plains, MB to John and Rosie (Genik) Skwarok. She received her education at Lemberg School in the Keld District, and later at Gilbert Plains Collegiate in Gilbert Plains, MB. Following her schooling, she moved to Dauphin to work at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre in Dietary and Housekeeping for 28 years.

Evelyn loved to spend time with family and friends, and most of all, her beloved pets. Evelyn loved all of her pets like children; especially her Siamese cats and her dogs. She had a passion for gardening, walking, biking, golfing and working in her flower beds. She frequently returned to the family farm in Keld, where she enjoyed spending her time with her nieces and would have them over for sleepovers as often as she could. Evelyn loved driving her Trans-Am almost as much as her nieces loved going for rides in it. Evelyn was often found visiting with her mom and dad, who lived just down the block from her in Dauphin.

Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Edina Skwarok of Dauphin; nieces Corrine & husband Glen Steele of Brandon, Darla & husband Cory Nickel of Ashern and Brendi & husband Darcy Dixon of Winnipeg; her great-nieces and nephews Darien & Austin Steele, Hannah, Caitlan, Jesse & Ava Nickel and Dylan & William Dixon; as well as many close friends.

Evelyn was predeceased by her brother Leonard Skwarok and parents John and Rosie Skwarok.

In accordance with Evelyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private funeral service was held on Friday, January 18th at 2:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Pastor Scott Allen officiating. Pallbearer is Darla Nickel, honorary pallbearers are Corrine Steele and Brendi Dixon.
