Elsie Klepak, 88 years old of Dauphin, MB passed away on June 28, 2018 at 1:30 am a the Dauphin General Hospital.
Elsie was born June 6, 1930 to Andrew and Mary Wakula of Sifton, in the Melton District. She was the youngest of three children. Elsie attended Melton School until she completed her Grade 8 education and then had to quit school to care for her mother who became very ill with pleurisy.
Elsie met William Klepak ,the love of her life, at a bazaar in Sifton, MB, and after a brief courtship they married on May 15, 1948. After their marriage they moved to William's family farm, where they resided until 1985. They had 2 children, Archie and Linda. In 1984 Elsie was offered a job at the St. Paul's Home where she worked in housekeeping. In 1985 they sold the family farm and moved to Dauphin so Elsie could be closer to work.
Elsie's passion was gardening and picking berries and wild mushrooms. In 2014 she won recognition for the best kept yard from the City of Dauphin.
Elsie was also very involved in the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Fatima Apostolate, Apostleship of Prayer and belonged to the Sisterhood for many years. She never missed a service or opportunity to be in Church. Her faith is what kept her strong.
Elsie also enjoyed cooking, baking, making donuts and keeping a spotless house. Anyone who has been at her place knows you never went hungry or left her place without a care package. Elsie enjoyed having her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren around her for family gatherings.
Elsie is survived by her children, son Archie (Vickie) of Sifton, daughter Linda (Art) Nakonechny of Dauphin; five grandsons, Clarence Klepak (Dawnly) of Sifton, Cameron (Pauline) of Dauphin, Aaron (Jenn) of Dauphin, Michael Nakonechny (Denise) of Regina, SK, David Nakonechny (Roxanne) of La Salle, MB; one granddaughter Tamara (Christopher) Baenninger of Montreal, QC.; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Prayers were offered on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, beginning with Rosary at 6:30 pm, prayers to follow at 7:00 pm from Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin, MB.
Funeral Liturgy was held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 10:00 am from Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin, MB with Very Rev Father Oleg Bodnarski officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
