It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Elizabeth Feheregyhazi, at the Grandview Care Home, at the age of 91.
Betty was the loving mother to Sara, Toni and Steven. She was also grandmother/Nana to Becky , Danny, Jason, and Lily. Further, she was great grandmother to Brynn.
Betty is also survived by her twin Nan Forrest. She was predeceased by her parents George and Sara Steven as well as her ex-husband Tibor Feheregyhazi.
Betty was born and raised in Hamilton, Scotland. At 25 years young she emigrated to Ottawa, Canada to start the next phase in her life. It was in Ottawa where she quickly became involved in theater and met her future husband Tibor Feheregyhazi. They had their first child in Ottawa and then their second in Quebec and finally their third in Winnipeg. Eventually Betty and Tibor divorced. This would be Betty's final province but not her last city/town. Betty spent most of her career in accounting first for Canadian Tire, then Protelec Electronics and then finishing her career with Revenue Canada.
For Betty, family was always number one but she also had hobbies. She was an avid photographer much of her life and has left her family with many photos of growing up. She also loved music and was often heard picking up her violin or guitar and would play many a tune for her family. While these were her biggest interests she also shared others. She was also a member of the Grandview Family Worship Center. In her younger years she loved going camping with her family as well as close friends Cathy and Merv Elchuk. After retirement Betty moved to Grandview, Manitoba to enjoy the relaxed life and all it had to offer.
Betty was fortunate enough to have her twin sister retire and then emigrate to Grandview with her husband Alec. The twins were finally re-united and Grandview would never be the same.
While the twins may have had disagreements...they were inseparable and did everything together including living at the Grandview Manor and then the care home. They were together right up to Betty's final breath.
Family would like to sincerely thank all of the Grandview Care Home Staff for their compassion and kindness.
