Douglas McPhee Obituary

Sadly we announce that on April 4, 2018 our family lost Douglas Norman McPhee, age 74 of Dauphin, MB, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born January 1, 1944 in Flin Flon, MB to Thomas and Mary (Webster) McPhee.
On February 6, 1965 in Elgin, MB, Douglas married the love of his life Doreen Lillian Phipps, together they had 6 children.  Doug loved to hunt and fish so when his career with Dept. of Northern Sask. took him and his family to Uranium City, they fell in love with the north's beautiful lakes and scenery.  In 1983 Doug and his family moved to Dauphin, MB where he resided until his death.  By trade Doug was a journeyman carpenter but with his talents he could do all trades easily.  Doug was employed for many years with Cobb's Plumbing & Heating, Barkman's Plumbing & Heating, but was happiest when he was self employed.  Doug was such a hard working caring man and even after his retirement he continued to be busy, any problems in the trailer court Doug was the man to call.
Doug is survived by his wife of 53 years Doreen, who he lovingly calls Sue; his sons Murray (Elaine) McPhee, Doug (Lisa) McPhee; his daughters Myrna (Rob) Jacobs, Valerie Slyziuk and Susan Shumanski; his 19 grandchildren, Savannah, Chelsey, Jonathon, Buddy, Mickey, Naomi, Chantel, Tysen, Billie, Nikki, Tommie, Kayden, Alexis, Peyton, Ozzy, Zack, Ashlyn and Leevi, as well as he 28 great grandchildren; his sisters Shirley McGimpsey and Elaine (Dave) Lowe; sister-in-law Carol (Allen) Thomas; brother-in-law Frank (Trisha) Phipps, Don (Anne) Cook, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his eldest daughter Tracy in 1982; his parents Thomas and Mary; his brother Don and his wife Arlene; his brother-in-law Robert McGimpsey and his very close uncle Matt.
The family hosted a celebration of life on April 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Trinity Lutheran Church Hall in Dauphin, MB.  Honourary urnbearers are his loving grandchildren.
