Charles Bonnett of Ste. Rose du Lac passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital, bringing to an end his long battle with cancer at the age of 71 years.
Charlie was born on December 24, 1946 in the family home in Rorketon to Gordon and Margaret Bonnett (nee Botterell). He married Margaret Ann Miller on July 9, 1966 in Winnipeg and their son Darren was born the same year.
Charlie was recognized for his dedication to St. John's Ambulance and he received awards for mine rescue while employed at Inco in Thompson. He will be remembered for his dedication to Relay for Life.
He was predeceased by his wife Maggie, his father Gordon, his mother Margaret, his step mother Gertrude, his brother Ken and his daughter-in-law Brenda.
Charles leave to mourn his passing and cherish many memories; his son Darren (Kathy), his grandchildren Devon (Jodi), Ashley (David), his brothers Barry, Bob (Elaine), Keith (Geraldine), Dennis (Susan), Glenn (Gayle), Rick (Pat), his sisters Marilyn Dumas, and Edith Taylor (Fred) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and all of the staff of the Ste. Rose General Hospital for their care and support.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on Friday, June 22. 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Ridgeway Cemetery, Rorketon, MB with reception to follow at the Lawrence Community Complex, Rorketon, MB
