Darrin Alexander Fendick passed away suddenly on April 6th, 2019 at the age of 54 in Calgary, AB. Darrin was born in Dauphin, MB on January 17th, 1965 to his parents Keith & Gladys (Cardiff) Fendick. He was the youngest of 5 children.
Darrin graduated in 1984 at the DRCSS and continued his education at the Red River Community College in Winnipeg in 1985. He worked at the Dauphin Co-op during his high school years and returned back after college. Darrin then moved to Calgary in 1992 and began working for Federated Co-op shortly after. He worked towards becoming a Stock Controller, took part in the safety committee, appointed co-chair to represent the employees for the union and was a big part of the Teamsters 987. He took pride in his job and his co-workers were very important to him. On the job, he made many laugh and also provided wisdom and guidance.
He had many interests. Darrin loved to fish with his guys; organizing a trip twice a year. He would pull out his golf clubs with anyone that wanted to play. He played hockey recreationally throughout his life and cheered on his home NHL Team, the Calgary Flames. Darrin was an amazing cook and often shared many recipes. He was very well read and very knowledgeable in so many things.
Darrin was loved by so many people in his life. Family was so important to him - including family he chose, that usually referred to him as “Fendick”. Darrin made everyone laugh with his different blends of humor and his infectious laugh could be heard throughout. He loved all kids and played a huge role in their lives as Uncle Darrin. He was always a friend anyone could count on and was highly respected. Darrin walked to his own beat, full of confidence and integrity. There are not enough words to describe Darrin and how he saw the lighter side of life.
Darrin is survived by his parents, Keith & Gladys Fendick, brothers, Rick(Karin), Kevin(Mary), Bob(Sue), Patty Nordquist, nieces & nephews, Ryan(Robin) Fendick, Andrea(Miles) Fendick, Dayna(Dan) Wagner, Joe(Natasha) Fendick, Nick(Chloe) Fendick, Jasmine(Kris) Nordquist, Kelsey(Scott) Dreger & numerous great nieces & nephews as well as extended nieces & nephews.
He is predeased by brother in law, Danny Nordquist, cousins, Douglas Kutcher, Paul & Darryl Fendick, Annie Ewert & Renee Lafleur, Uncle Arnold Fendick, Aunt Shurle Fendick, Uncle Bob & Aunt Barb Kanton.
Darrin, our son, brother, uncle and friend has touched so many lives and he will be missed emensely by all who knew him.
Memorial Service was held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
