Welcome to the memorial page for

Danny Parthenay

May 12, 1948 ~ October 8, 2017 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Danny passed away peacefully at the Ste. Rose General Hospital on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at the age of 69 years.
Danny was born May 12th, 1948 to Jules & Berthe (Bilodeau) Parthenay at Ste. Rose, Manitoba. He was raised on the family farm in rural Ste. Rose along with his siblings; Annette, Raymond, Rita, Paul, Denise, Jeannine & Louise.
Danny attended the Verdun country school and later went to Ste. Rose School. In 1969, he attended Red River Community College and obtained his meat cutting certificate. He was employed as a meat cutter at various stores throughout Manitoba.
In 1973, Danny married Angele Houle. Together they had three children; Dawn, Michelle and Deano. They also raised a chosen daughter, Crystal Mancheese. The family spent many years together in Ebb & Flow, creating many friends there. Danny & Angele’s marriage did not last, and they divorced.
On May 1st, 2004 Danny then married; Joan Luke (Slimmon). Danny’s family grew, as Joan had three sons, Terry, Darryl and Bryan Luke. Danny & Joan resided in Ste. Rose and enjoyed visits with family & friends. One thing you knew though was you didn’t visit when wrestling was on.
Danny drove the Ste. Rose Handi-van for several years, and really enjoyed the interaction with the clients he chauffeured around. He also had a few lawns in town he would take care of including his own. He could often be seen mowing his lawn with his little furry friend, Buddy on his lap.
Danny was well known for his great musical ability and loved to entertain for everyone around. He would call up anyone to join him, whether it was to play or sing. He would take the stage and perform all night. He was in his element doing what he loved.
Danny was also well known for his jokes. He loved to make others smile & laugh. Sometimes he often laughed along with them when he was finished. It was never a dull moment when Danny was around. His charm, caring nature and ability to make everyone around him laugh with just a couple of words was why, if you were around him you felt happiness & love.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are; his wife Joan, daughters Michelle ( Terry) Mousseau & Crystal Mancheese (Melford), Son in law Norbert McIvor, Stepsons Terry (Ruth)  & Bryan (Melanie), 17 Grandchildren,  8 Great Grandchildren & 6 Step grandchildren, Sisters Denise Erlendson & Jeannine Davies, Brother Paul (Audrey)  and many nieces, nephews, friends & extended family.
Danny was predeceased by his parents Jules & Berthe, his children Dawn & Deano, stepson Darryl, sisters Annette Marshall, Rita Lecomte & Louise Wegleitner, brother Raymond.
Special thanks to the nurses in the Dialysis Unit & also to all the nurses and doctors at the Dauphin Hospital and Ste. Rose Hospital that gave Danny such exceptional care over the years.
