Audrey Parthenay Obituary

Audrey Parthenay

Audrey Parthenay of Ste. Rose du Lac passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the age of 70 years.
Audrey was born on October 3, 1949 in Ste. Rose du Lac to Bill and Doris Bennett.  She grew up on a farm in the Turtle River District of Ochre River, MB.  Audrey loved the farm life and all the different animals that she cared for.  She received her education at the Turtle River School, where she was lucky enough to have her mom as her teacher.  She finished her schooling in Dauphin at the Dauphin Collegiate.
On March 11, 1967 in Ochre River, Audrey married Paul Parthenay.  Being an only child, she was thrilled to join the big Parthenay family.  Together, Audrey and Paul took over her parent's farm and this is where they would raise their family.  They had 3 children; Chad (1967), Grant (1968) and Tracy (1973).
In 1976, Audrey's life changed significantly, as she suffered a brain aneurysm at the young age of 27.  After a lengthy hospital stay, Audrey returned home to be with her family.  Although she had to face some challenges, you never heard her complain.
In 2007, Audrey took up residency in the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home.  She was so happy there, she always had a big smile and a "Hi, how are you for everyone".  She enjoyed card games with friends, bingo, listening to country music and most of all her cup of coffee.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are; her children; Chad and Brenda Parthenay, Grant and Candice Parthenay, Tracy Parthenay and Ken Pizunski, her grandchildren Ashtyn and Taylor Parthenay, Tristan, Dillan, and Adrianna Parthenay, Carli and Jack Firestine, Brodi and Wyatt Mock, her two great grandsons Maddox and Vincent Firestine, her sisters-in-law Denise Erlendson, Jeannine Davies, Verna and Joan Parthenay, her brother-in-law Jim Wegleitner as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Audrey's life was held on Saturday, October 26th at 1:00 pm in the Ste. Rose Community Centre, Ste. Rose du Lac, MB
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and home care workers who cared for Audrey throughout her life.  We would also like to give special thanks to all of the staff both past and present at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home for taking such wonderful care of Mom.  You were all like family to her and you each had a special place in her heart.
