Audrey Kardoes of Ste Rose Du Lac MB loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away at Ste Rose General Hospital surrounded by family.
Audrey was born in Winnipeg Manitoba to Edward and Mary Mae Miller, a sister to older brother Joe, and this is where she lived and received her education. This is also where she met and later married her first love Henry Oberton. They married in 1955 and together raised four children.
In 1978 Audrey and Henry relocated to Ste Rose Du Lac MB where Audrey was employed at AFM as a counsellor.
Henry passed away in 1984.
In 1989 Audrey married Ben Kardoes and together they purchased an acreage in the RM of Ochre River. This was her home until her death.
Audrey was very involved in the establishing of the organization in Ste Rose called ROSE Inc. and was one of the founding board members and a dedicated volunteer for many years. She was also the local chairperson for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of the area until 2009.
Audrey leaves behind the love of her life, husband Ben, sons Hank Oberton, Chris Oberton, and daughter Andrea - husband Joachim (Ozzie) Oswald, step daughter Sheila - husband Randy MacDonald , step son Carmen - wife Tammy Kardoes.
Audrey has eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Audrey was predeceased by her first husband Henry, her precious son Tom, parents Edward and Mary Mae Miller, and brother Joe.
A celebration of Audrey's life was held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church, Ochre River. Interment will take place in the Turtle River Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Audrey to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
