Ann Ezowske Obituary

It is with the greatest sadness that the family of Anne Ezowske announces her passing on April 16, 2019.
Anne was born on the family farm in Mink Creek on December 14, 1932 to Walter and Nellie (Burdeniuk) Bilinski.  She attended Borshaw School till grade 8, then 9-11 in Ethelbert and grade 12 in Dauphin Collegiate Technical Institute.  After high school she proceeded on to the Provincial Normal School in Winnipeg attaining her teaching certificate.
Her career started in 1952 at Borshaw School, then on to Doroshenko School from 1954 top 1957, at times there were 40 to 50 students that she taught.  In 1959 she taught at Dauphin Plains Country School then went on to teach for 30 years in the Dauphin Ochre School District.  Over many summers she attended Brandon University and obtained her Bachelor of Education. In 1990 after 38 years Anne retired to tend to her mother.
Anne was an avid member of the Church of the Resurrection (Ukrainian Catholic), where she was the chairperson of the Eucharistic Bread-Making Ministry, totaling 23 years.  Anne was a member of the church choir, a member of Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Choir, a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League, a member of the Sister Josaphata Pastoral Care, secretary for many years for the Pastoral Care Ministry and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
While teaching in the country, Anne met the “love of her life” Lawrence and they married November 2, 1954.  They lived in the teacherage of the Doroshenko School District. Then moved to Dauphin in the fall of 1959, where they lived till she passed.  Anne and Lawrence would have been married 65 years this year.  During the years they travelled to the United States many times for vacations.  They also travelled to Ontario and Vancouver to visit family and friends.  Although Anne and Lawrence had no children of their own, her nieces and nephews and great nieces helped to fill the void.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lawrence; her sister Marie Dohan; nephews Bill (Louise), Albert (Norine), Robert (Debbie); niece Gail (Gary); great nieces Tanya, Melissa (Mark) and Kristen (Andre); two great great nieces and two great great nephews; aunt Pauline Burdeniuk; brother-in-law David Ezowske and extended family.
Anne was predeceased by her parents Walter and Nellie; niece Nance, brothers-in-law Michael Dohan, Mersil Ezowske, Nestor Ezowske; sister-in-law Sylvia Ezowske; uncle Bill Burdeniuk.
In closing, some of the qualities that we most admired about Anne were, her strong commitment to teaching, her faith in God and her love of her life. Forever in our hearts.  You will be missed.  We love you.
