The family of Albert Garton regretfully announces his unexpected passing on March 24, 2019 at the age of 91 years.
Albert was born at Makinak, Manitoba in his parent’s home on August 9, 1927. He would live in that same home on the family farm for 87 years before moving to Dauphin.
Family and farming were his lifetime loves. In semi-retirement he helped out his nephew Larry whenever needed with Garton’s Auction Service. In full retirement his passions were crib with the guys every morning, pool on Tuesday’s and many coffees with the folks he would meet down at “Horton’s”.
Albert was known as a thoughtful and gentle soul. He was deeply loved and respected by all of his family and so very many friends and neighbours.
Albert will be greatly missed by his sister Edith, sister-in-law Muriel, nephews and nieces: Don, Eleanor (Ed), Arlie and Lois (Garry), Alvin (Karen), Barbara (Russ), Larry (Beverley). He loved and was loved dearly by his great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Ethel, his brother Donald and special friend Alice Lounsbury.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Albert may be made to Dauphin Multi-Purpose Senior Centre, Dauphin First United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
The family hosted a memorial service for Albert on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Dauphin First United Church.
