Pierre Arthur Joseph Delaurier

DELAURIER

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Pierre Delaurier, on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at his home in Ste. Rose du Lac following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 47 years.

Pierre was born on July 25, 1965 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to Larry and Louise Delaurier (nee Verhaeghe).

He leaves to mourn his passing; his beloved friend and soul mate Nadine Bass, his parents Larry and Louise Delaurier, his sisters Susie and husband Richard Flower and Carol and husband Alex Dunlop, his nephew Ryan Dunlop and fiancée Melissa Goldsworthy along with numerous extended family members, many friends and riding companions.

Pierre worked as a pipeline worker in the Oil and Gas Industry.  He had many interests including making puzzles and playing crib with his mom, renovating his home, working in his yard and playing ball with his dog Tilly.  His true passion was riding his Harley.

Prayers for Pierre were offered on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rose du Lac.  The eulogy was given by Pierre’s cousin Gary Vandepoele and a video presentation followed.  Funeral Service was held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM.  Fr. Leo Fernandes officiated with the interment following in the Ste. Rose Cemetery.

Should friends so desire, please consider making a donation in memory of Pierre to the Chemotherapy Unit at the Dauphin General Hospital c/o the Dauphin General Hospital Foundation.

The family wishes to thank all of their family and friends for their love and support, for all of the food brought to the house along with the flowers and the cards.  A special thank you to Audrey and all of the staff and doctors at Dauphin Chemotherapy, Dr. Bashir and his staff in Brandon, Dr. Harding and his staff in Winnipeg and Dr. Gudmundson and Dr. O’Hagan in Ste. Rose.  Thank you to the Homecare staff in Ste. Rose and all of those from the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home that helped care for Pierre so that he was able to be at home.  You are all special people.
