Eleanor Florence Kuzyk (nee Paziuk)

KUZYK

Eleanor Kuzyk passed away on February 15, 2012 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 67.

Eleanor was born in Ethelbert to William and Frances Paziuk on April 9, 1944.  She completed her education in Ethelbert.

In 1963 Eleanor married Nestor Kuzyk in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  After moving back to Ethelbert, Eleanor began working at the Village Office.  Over the years Eleanor obtained her degree in Municipal Administration.  After a 44 year career Eleanor retired from the village as CAO in 2011.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Nestor, two daughters Kim Kuzyk and partner Roger Bretecher of Dauphin, Laura and husband Darryl Pasternak of Kamloops.  There are 4 granddaughters Kayla, Jenna, Mikaelyn and Linnea, and one great-grandson Lucas.

She is also survived by her sister Donna (Mitch) Michaluk of Ethelbert, brothers David (Donna) of Winnipeg, Raymond (Valerie) of Gilbert Plains, Brian of Winnipeg and Dennis (Denise) of Ste. Rose.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law William (Marge) of Thunder Bay.  There are also numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents William and Frances Paziuk and her in-laws William and Sophie Kuzyk.

Memorial service was held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel in Dauphin with the Reverend Father Yaroslav Strukhlyak officiating.  Metro Lukie served as Cantor.  The eulogy was delivered by Laura Pasternak.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Eleanor may honor her memory by making donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements were entrusted to Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services with funeral homes in Dauphin, Roblin and Ste. Rose du Lac.
